About

Writer. Scholar. Creator.

First things first, how to pronounce my name:
Dr. Oluwatomisin Olayinka Oredein!

  • Oh-loo-wah-toe-me-seen

  • Oh-la-yeen-caw

  • Oh-red-dane.

Many folks call me Dr. Tomi, Dr. O., or Dr. Oredein as well! Welcome to my “About” page!

I’m a writer at heart. Writing has always been my first voice so, I write about every and anything that has captured my attention and imagination.

In the academic world, I focus on exploring my many interests: American African identity, liminality, theopoetics, womanism, Black and African feminisms, Black theology, and Black diasporic culture - all through a Christian theological and ethical lens.

In my poetry and creative writing I center the insights and questions race, culture, gender, and other identity expressions bring to the fore.
